Found this awesome porcelain skull at a thrift shop one day. It would probably be a lot more awesome if it was a real skull, but, those are a little hard to get. :-p I still really like how it looks though. Maybe I will try and get one of those replicas that they use for science class. :)
This is a little figure of Badai. According to Chinese history, Budai was an eccentric Chan monk who lived in China during the Later Liang (907 - 923). He was a native of Zhejiang and his Buddhist name was Qieci. He was considered a man of good and loving character. Budai in folklore is admired for his happiness, plenitude, and wisdom contentment. One belief popular in folklore maintains that rubbing his belly brings wealth, good luck, and prosperity. I am going to start carrying him around with me.
