This is one of the first pictures I took on this leg of my journey back in January. I used bokeh for abstract nature of the shot that captures the festive feeling of the holidays. I want to work more with bokeh, I also have ideas for a model and Christmas lights.
I think seagulls can be very beautiful. I have wanted to go to the beach one morning (or evening) and just sit and watch them and try to capture a picture of them, but that takes a little practice. Maybe that is what I should be doing at the end of the days. It would give me a chance to get out and enjoy the lovely beach that I live so close to. I don't think I spend enough time at the beach. I don't know if it is the sand, or the water, or what it is that keeps me away. Maybe I just need to get a pair of shorts, some sandles and go to the beach with my camera and capture the lovely pictures.
This is a picture I captured of the Cherry Grove Beach Pier in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I think I may have a little bit of an obsession with piers considering the number of pictures that I seem to take around or of them. I don't think it is a bad thing though. I just love how they look. I have thought of getting there during the summer months during sunrise to capture all the fishers that fish off the pier. Maybe that is something I will do in the next few weeks.
