Sometimes really awesome things can be found in the middle of the chaos of highways and shopping malls. I thought this chapel is beautiful, so with most beautiful things I see I like to take out my camera and take a picture. This is a little chapel in Conway, South Carolina on 501. It was built in 1972. There has been a few cases of vandals and a case of fire, but it was rebuilt. 12 people can sit in the chapel, and many people have used it for wedding ceremonies. It is one of the smallest churches in America.
"In the future, everyone will be famous for 15 minutes." What would you do with that 15 minutes? Would you do enough to turn it into 30? Maybe even 60? That is what I am trying to do, I guess. I just want my 15 minutes, for something good. For something that I can be remembered by. A photo maybe. I know I have made impacts in people's lives, and I love that. I know that I will be remembered, and maybe I am just being greedy wanting more, but I want to share my photos with more people. That may be a problem though, because I don't seem to have a style. I don't think there is anything about my photos that someone would look at and say, "That is a Scott Kwiecinski photograph." So, what would you do with your 15 minutes?
There is something about small flames that I have always found peaceful and relaxing. The way they flicker, the dim light they give off or maybe the very small space of illumination that it gives. It allows me to focus on the flame and the things that are right around me and allow me to block out all the things that are outside the illumination area. I am hoping to do more candle work in the future, because I love working with them so much.
